"Percorsi" (“Paths”): Social-labour integration paths for unaccompanied minors and young migrants

The first results

The Public Notice "Percorsi" ("Paths") published on 13 October 2016 was addressed to subjects authorised to carry out intermediation at national level (pursuant to Lgs.D. No. 276/2003 Title II – Part I and following amendments and integrations) as well as to public and private subjects accredited by the Regions to supply employment and labour services. It was aimed at realising 960 integrated paths for the social-labour insertion of unaccompanied minors, of international protection beneficiaries or applicants in the transition phase towards adulthood and of young migrants that entered Italy as unaccompanied minors.

On 31st December 2016, the closing date of the Public Notice, the applications submitted by the proponent bodies amounted to 316. On 13 March 2017, the no-impediment documents issued for launching the various paths amounted to 1,015. The apprenticeships in progress on said date were 918, while 46 were in the launching phase, for a total of 964 apprenticeships.

The apprentices' first five nationalities were: Gambia, Egypt, Senegal, Nigeria, Mali. The female apprentices amounted to 21. With reference to age, 48% of the apprentices were aged 18 years old, 22% were aged 17 years old, and 18.23% were aged 19 years old. The Regions with the highest number of paths activated were: Sicilia (389 paths, equal to 38% of the total), Marche (81 paths - 8%), Lombardia (75 - 7%), Campania (63 - 6%), Puglia (63 - 6%), Veneto (56 – 5.5%).
